From 1992 to 1995 he worked for Jean-Jacques Picart, and in 1997 he was appointed Collections and Art Director at Yves Saint-Laurent. Slimane moved to Dior in 2000, winning much acclaim for his Dior fragrances and skincare lines. In 2008 he moved to the U.S., and began to exhibit his art, and to collaborate with artists and musicians in New York.
